The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) has donated a Toyota Hilux pick-up vehicle to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) School of Business (KSB). The donation, according to Mr. Samuel Sarpong, Chief Operating Officer of GCB, was to strengthen the partnership between the two institutions.
Mr. Sarpong made the donation on behalf of the Bank and Reverend Professor Charles Ansah, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, dedicated the vehicle.
Presenting the keys of the vehicle, Mr. Sarpong indicated that the donation opened a new chapter in the relationship between the two institutions in the delivery of quality tertiary education in the country. He stated that as part of rebranding and restructuring, the bank has established new branches with modern edifices with digital and innovative formats to make banking easier and convenient.

Mr. Sarpong revealed that GCB had also introduced lounge and custom-made services, which are the first of its kind in tertiary institutions in Ghana to serve university management, staff and students. He further said that soon, relationship managers of the bank would commence door-to-door banking services for senior members of the university.
Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, Vice-Chancellor in receiving the vehicle thanked management on behalf of the KSB and the University. Professor Obiri-Danso noted that KNUST had been a loyal customer of the bank for many years and it was therefore appropriate for the bank to donate the vehicle to help in the operations of the KSB.
He said the University was grateful for the donation and hoped it would help in executing teaching, learning and research. He also used the occasion to appeal to management of the bank to emulate the example of other banks and come to the support of needy but brilliant students in the University.
